Boulder Beat is entirely supported by your readership and contributions. From Nov. 30 to Dec. 31, the Colorado Media Project and a Beat reader are *both* offering $5,000 matches to individual contributions (up to $1,000) made to the Boulder Beat. That’s triple the impact in your local community. Please consider funding local public-service journalism, if you’re able.
Questions? Concerns? Cries of outrage? You can send all that (and your juicy news tips) to firstname.lastname@example.org.

Who am I?
A Boulder-based journalist. I have spent a decade in the industry, writing and designing for newspapers and magazines (with some photo and video thrown in). I most recently spent 6.5 years at the Boulder Daily Camera, covering business and government. My work has appeared in Colorado Sun, Colorado Newsline and New York Times, among others.
What is Boulder Beat… and who is it for?
Boulder Beat is for everyone. But who we keep in mind with our coverage is people who strive to be good, to do good, who want to learn, who want to create and be part of a more connected and more equitable community. We do not shy away from complexity: We embrace it.
Boulder Beat’s mission is to connect readers to their local government through focused and digestible journalism on topics that are relevant to residents. With approachable, data-driven and independent journalism, the Beat breaks down barriers to participate in the discussions on, and solutions to, the issues that affect our community.
Here at Boulder Beat, we get it: You have a life. One of our goals is to slow news down, so that you can be an informed and engaged citizen without sacrificing all of your time (and sanity). We pledge not to publish just to fill space — every story will have relevance and impact. (With the occasional story just for fun.)
Thank you for your help in supporting this mission.
